Supplies

This is A step-by-step Guide to all the supplies that you need to start your garden.

For starters, you need containers. I used a few containers that we already had, but I also went to Lowes to get a few different containers. You will need different depth containers for different plants. For root crops, like beets and carrots, you will need deeper containers. Lettuces or herbs, which grow above the surface, can be planted in shallower containers.

Now, you need soil. I used Miracle-Gro Garden Soil. I got mine from Lowes but I sure you can find it at Home Depot or wherever you get your gardening supplies.

Next, you will need gardening tools. First off, gloves. Those are a good pair of unisex gloves but if you don't like those, almost anywhere that has gardening supplies will have gloves to choose from. You will also need a spade. If you would like you can invest in a seed dispenser. You also need a watering can.

Lastly, you will need seeds and transplants.. Wherever you get your gardening supplies, they will most likely have most of the seeds and transplants that you want. Make a list of what you want to plant and then look for seeds and transplants. If you want tomatoes, herbs, or peppers, I would recommend looking for transplants of those things. If you want lettuces, flowers, or root crops, those are most likely things you should just look for seeds for.
